A practical sourcing guide

A clearer brief. A more useful quotation.

Use this checklist when comparing bar tools, branded drinkware and gift sets.

1. Define the item

Choose the product and size. Specify the material or grade you require; do not assume every stainless steel item uses the same grade. State finish, colors and included accessories.

2. Separate stock and customization minimums

Ask for the MOQ of the exact combination of item, color, logo and packaging. The listing minimum may apply to an unbranded or standard version.

3. Approve artwork and a sample

Provide a vector logo if available. Confirm the imprint area, process, sample charge and sample timing. Review the agreed sample before authorizing production.

4. Compare costs on the same basis

Ask whether unit prices include decoration and packaging. Request setup fees, carton information, shipping terms and quotation validity separately.

5. Confirm documents and inspection

Tell the supplier where and how the product will be used. Request documents for the exact product and market when needed, and agree on the inspection criteria.

6. Agree on the schedule

Separate sample preparation, approval, production and transport. Confirm the date after the specification and order conditions are agreed.
